At a time when private enterprise was intent on creating wealth and a name for itself, Dr T M A Pai, the founder and the philanthropic spirit behind the Manipal Group, channelised his energies to create wealth of a different kind - in the form of knowledge, health and social development.
Manipal Foundation was primarily set up to sanctify this mission and to re-affirm its commitment to social development in the fields of education, healthcare, science, culture, heritage and sports.
The foundation also strives to reach out to like-minded individuals and organisations, to join them in their endeavour to provide the much-needed impetus to a few globally relevant development issues.
The agenda of the Manipal Foundation is to use the expertise and infrastructure of its institutions and reach out to a wide constituency of target beneficiary groups. The Foundation believes that community benefits multiply when social responsibility is shared, when multiple expertise merges towards just one goal: what we have gained should be passed on.
Manipal Foundation has made a difference to the lives of thousands of people and families by lending financial support for healthcare, education, employment and social upliftment.
The Manipal Foundation is recognised as a Charitable Trust by the Commissioner of Income Tax. Donations made to the foundation are exempt under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
